How to connect a WhatsApp Business number through Meta, set up the webhook and work within the 24-hour window.
What you need
Bordee works with Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API). You need:
- an app in Meta for Developers with the WhatsApp product;
- a phone number added to a WhatsApp Business Account;
- a permanent System User access token with WhatsApp permissions;
- the Phone Number ID and the WhatsApp Business Account ID (in the app's WhatsApp settings);
- the app's App Secret (App settings → Basic).
Connecting
The 24-hour window
WhatsApp lets you write free text to a customer only within 24 hours of their last message. After that Meta accepts approved message templates only. Bordee does not send templates yet, so outside the window the message is not sent and the chat shows a clear error. Broadcasts skip such recipients and say why.
Buttons and files
- Up to three funnel buttons go as regular WhatsApp buttons, more as a list.
- A photo above buttons becomes the message header, a single link becomes a link button.
- Media library files are uploaded to WhatsApp directly.

If Meta lowers the number's quality rating to red, Bordee warns you: Meta may limit how many messages you can send.
