Telegram
How to connect a Telegram bot, get links that start funnels, and what to know about the channel.
Create a bot
Connect the bot
Settings → Channels → Connect a channel. Choose Telegram, paste the token and, if you like, the name the channel has in the admin (empty means the bot's name). Click Connect.
Bordee checks the token and registers the webhook itself; there is nothing else to set up. From now on everything people write to the bot appears in Conversations.
Channel status
The channel list shows whether a channel is active and when it was last checked. If something is wrong you see "The channel needs attention" and the last error. Check tests the channel now, Reconnect webhook registers the webhook again, Switch off stops receiving messages; conversations stay.
Start links
The link https://t.me/acme_shop_bot?start=promo opens the bot and passes the label promo. A funnel started by "A bot link (/start with a label)" with that label runs for exactly this link. The ready link is shown on the funnel's page.
This way a button on your site can lead to one scenario and an ad to another.
Good to know
- Bordee takes the Telegram app's language as a guess at the contact's language until the person chooses one.
- If someone blocked the bot, you cannot write to them: broadcasts skip them and say why.
- Photos and files from the media library are uploaded by the bot directly; no public links are needed.
